On May 20th, 2024, Bentley Systems was pleased to announce a $25,000 grant to the Louisiana Transportation Research Center Foundation (LTRC). This grant, presented by Mo Harmon, Bentley’s Industry Strategy Director, will enhance LTRC’s outreach initiatives in both K-12 and higher education over the next two years.
More specifically, these funds will support the training of AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials) STEM K-12 teachers to apply for grants to enhance their curriculum and provide travel scholarships for graduate students to share their research at key conferences.
In addition, Bentley Systems will provide grants of $35,000 over three years to support AASHTO STEM Outreach Solutions, totaling $105,000. These funds will support student travel and participation in the AASHTO Bridge Competition to enable the national growth of this program across twenty (20) Departments of Transportation and associated primary and secondary schools. With this support, the 2024 AASHTO Bridge Competition has already doubled program participation.
In 2023, Bentley gave $590,000 to support STEM initiatives through annual colleague donations. This year, we expect to surpass our 2023 milestone.
We are thrilled to support these crucial initiatives that educate and empower future leaders in infrastructure design.
