With decades of experience in infrastructure and education, Julie Van Portfliet joins Bentley as Director of Education for North America
Julie Van Portfliet’s experience began with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Michigan Technological University (MTU) and includes 30 years of experience with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT). Van Portfliet also served 10 years as Co-Chair for the American Association of State Highway Transportation Official’s (AASHTO) TRAC & RIDES educational program.
Her extensive involvement in academia and various programs at the local, state, and national levels include creating program content, determining, and executing program budgets, providing training, and documenting and evaluating program milestones. This experience has prepared Van Portfliet to enable Bentley to prepare students for careers in infrastructure technology.
Van Portfliet joins Bentley full of excitement for Bentley and infrastructure technology. Her passion aligns with Bentley’s commitment to making a positive impact and constantly improving the quality of life for people worldwide.
In the upcoming months, Van Portfliet specific focus will be on creating and executing repeatable, scalable educational programs for secondary and post-secondary educators that will ultimately create a continuous stream of Bentley skilled talent for all our users, starting with Departments of Transportation.
