This category recognizes projects that demonstrate digital innovation in planning, design and engineering, of new road assets and the maintenance and inspection of road and highway networks. Please showcase your innovative use of Bentley applications, either independently or combined with other software—including OpenRoads, Bentley LumenRT, iTwin Capture, SYNCHRO, ProjectWise, MicroStation, iTwin, AssetWise, and SUPERLOAD—across the entire project and asset lifecycle.

Please include any quantitative results relating to cost savings and productivity, as well as quality and safety, if applicable. Remember to include high-quality visuals—such as images, screenshots, animations, charts, videos, and diagrams—and provide actual models and product screenshots. Please also provide examples of how you are leveraging digital twins and AI across the lifecycle to advance project delivery and enhance asset performance.

Criteria 1

Demonstrate how you and your team planned for resilience and community wellbeing, with an eye to protecting existing wildlife and ecosystems and allowing them to flourish, including:

• Enhancement of social equity and quality of life through improved mobility, accessibility, and community engagement.
• Thoughtful rehabilitation of existing infrastructure adapting for human and wildlife needs to minimize new material requirements.
• Measurable reduction of environmental impacts, including lowering the carbon footprint, and improving air and water quality.

Criteria 2

Emphasize both the uniqueness of the challenges and the ingenuity of the solutions, showing how you and the team addressed complex issues, including:

• Unconventional challenges that require novel engineering approaches, and unique solutions.
• Integration of techniques that go beyond standard practices.
• Adaptability of methods and technologies to project specific constraints and complexities.
• Learnings and techniques that have the potential to be replicated on other projects

Criteria 3

Showcase the strategic and tactical use of digital tools, including Bentley and third-party applications, to leverage their full potential and outcomes, including:

• Significantly improving project workflows and outcomes, emphasizing interoperability and integration.
• Integrating data across various project phases and disciplines, ensuring data consistency and accessibility for all stakeholders.
• Augmenting workforce pinch points for efficiencies in project delivery.

Criteria 4

Provide measured/quantified return on investment (ROI) achieved using Bentley software, including:

• Cost savings (energy efficiency, water loss, design, construction and maintenance costs).
• Time savings.
• Resource optimization.
• Risk management (mitigation measures and solutions).

Criteria 5

Showcase sustainability impact of the project (climate adaptation, society, community, safety, environmental, etc.), including:

• Energy savings.
• Lower carbon footprint.
• Improved resilience.
• Improved quality of life.
• Mitigated risk.

Submissions must include high-quality, engaging, and informative images, screenshots, models, simulations, animations and movies, charts, and/or diagrams.
